Second District Leaders Meet With Brooklyn Elected Officials

On Wednesday evening, November 13, a few Second District Dental Society (SDDS) leaders met with various New York State and City officials at an EDPAC-sponsored reception. It was a unique opportunity for Second District to put faces to the names and personally discuss some of the more pressing issues our membership is facing with members of the New York State Legislature and New York City Council. The “meet and greet” was hosted by New York State Senator Andrew Gounardes and New York State Assemblyman Peter J. Abbate, Jr. and held at La Sorrentina Restaurant. Both Sen. Gounardes and Assemblyman Abbate, Jr. are considered strong allies of the New York State Dental Association (NYSDA) and its membership.

Joining Sen. Gounardes and Assemblyman Abbate, Jr. were NY State Assemblymembers Jaime Williams (Canarsie, Georgetown, Mill Basin, Marine Park, Bergen Beach and Gerritsen Beach), N. Nick Perry (East Flatbush), Robert Carroll (Park Slope, Windsor Terrace, Kensington), Simcha Eichenstein (Borough Park, Midwood) and Walter Mosley (Fort Greene, Clinton Hill, Prospect Heights, Crown Heights and Bedford-Stuyvesant); and New York City Council Members Kalman Yeger (Bensonhurst, Borough Park, Midwood and Ocean Parkway) and Justin Brannan (Bay Ridge, Dyker Heights, Bensonhurst and Bath Beach).

SDDS President Dr. Alyson Buchalter was joined by Drs. Paul Albicocco, Raymond Flagiello, Tricia Quartey-Sagaille, Valerie Venterina and Steven Gounardes. NYSDA Lobbyist Mr. Roy Lasky was also on hand.
