Synopsis:
The presentation will focus on preparing a restorative practice for addressing the daily challenges faced with efficient and predictable solutions. In an age of instant gratification, patients often demand simple and effective approaches to their dental needs. Patients want treatment modalities that result in beautiful, natural-appearing teeth with minimal discomfort and chair time. The ability to provide procedures to replace or restore teeth in a short period of time can significantly improve daily practice by streamlining workflow and increasing productivity.
This interactive course will review multiple techniques that improve a patient’s smile immediately. Whether a patient requires a single unit or a complete arch prosthesis, the restorative dentist will need to deliver esthetically pleasing and functional teeth in a few dental visits. The latest dental materials will be evaluated and criteria developed to assist in selecting the appropriate restoration for a given situation will be shared. The initial focus must be on fabricating a fixed provisional solution for the patient that allows them to return to their daily activities as soon as possible with confidence and function. Uncovering many of these pearls is the key to success in improving our restorative practices. Current game changers to enhance patient care will be reviewed in detail, including products, techniques, instrumentation and technologies. Topics to be discussed include:
- Evaluating the patient’s esthetic, functional and time requirements
- Determining the patient’s periodontal, surgical and restorative needs
- Presenting multiple treatment options
- Realistic expectations with the patient
- Treatment planning, sequencing and execution using both conventional and digital workflows
Examples of patient treatment that will be presented:
- Natural teeth: partial coverage, laminate veneer and crown restorations
- Implants: single unit, multiple units and complete arch restorations
- Tooth-borne and implant-supported restorations in the same arch
Upon successful completion of this course, attendees will be able to:
- Assess the patient’s esthetic and functional requirements and time constraints.
- Predictably evaluate patient needs.
- Plan, sequence and execute treatment using current conventional and digital techniques.
