Welcome to the Second District Dental Society
The Second District Dental Society is the local component of the New York State Dental Association and the American Dental Association representing 1,400 member dentists in Brooklyn and Staten Island. It is our hope that this website provides our members with information that will aid them in making the most out of their membership. Additionally, we hope to provide the public with a source of information about our society and members to demonstrate our commitment to excellence and the preservation of oral health.

Second District Nominating Committee to Meet in June
Members of the Second District Nominating Committee will meet this coming June to assemble its slate of candidates for the available elective positions effective January 1, 2025.
Those positions are:
- SDDS Board of Trustees – 8 slots, 2-year term
- ADA Delegate – 3 slots, 1-year term each.
- ADA Alternate Delegate – 2 slots, 1-year term each
- NYSDA Delegate – 5 slots, 1-year term each
- NYSDA Alternate Delegate – 8 slots, 1-year term each
- NYSDA Council on Dental Health Planning & Hospital Dentistry representative – 1 slot, 4-year term (renewable)
- NYSDA Council on Professional Liability Insurance representative – 1 slot, 4-year term (renewable)
- NYSDA Council of Nominations – 1 slot, 1-year term (renewable)
