RCDS May 2021 Newsletter
A message from RCDS Vice President Dr. Joseph Merola
Dear Colleagues,
Now that spring is finally approaching and the Richmond County Dental Society (RCDS) 2021 year is well underway, I would like to thank all those who attended our first virtual general membership meeting last month.
A special thank you to our newly elected president, Dr. Lydia Lam, for organizing the meeting, and her partner Dr. Steven Yusupov for an enlightening lecture. Our next virtual meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at 7 p.m. via Zoom. Our guest speaker will be Dr. Heath Brantley who will be discussing “Solea Lasers - The Most Versatile Technology in Dentistry.” Advance registration is required; click here to register.
Another exciting save the date to keep in mind is the annual RCDS Golf Outing, which will be held in conjunction with SDDS and the NYSDA House of Delegates at the Richmond County Country Club on Thursday, August 12, 2021. Be sure to mark your calendars for another day of fun in the sun!
And as a final note, just another reminder to our recent graduates who are starting out in practice. Second District Dental Society is continuing its Dental School Loan Forgiveness Program for a fifth year. This program awards a one-time grant of up to $10,000 to help reduce the stressful burden of dental school loan debt. It is open to newly licensed dentists who are active members of SDDS, have had their licenses for five years or less, practice in Brooklyn and/or Staten Island and have over $50,000 in dental school debt. This year our society will be awarding 24 recipients.
From all of us on the RCDS Executive Committee, we are looking forward to “seeing” you at the RCDS Meeting on May 11!
Best regards,
Joseph Merola, D.M.D.
2021 RCDS Vice President
