Richmond County Dental Society Events

The Richmond County Dental Society (RCDS), the Branch Society of the Second District Dental Society, meets several times annually, offering presentations that are current and pertinent to its members. The January meeting is devoted to the Installation of Officers at the Annual Dinner Dance. The April meeting is held in conjunction with the regular Second District Dental Society General Membership Meeting.

RCDS Membership Meeting | Dysphagia: Assessment and Intervention

In this lecture, attendees will review anatomy and physiology for deglutition and demonstration of objective assessments and findings will be presented. Case studies for patients with dental etiologies will be presented and the impact of delayed therapy will be discussed. Upon successful completion of this lecture, attendees will learn common symptoms of dysphagia, referral sources and research supported outcomes. Attendees will also be able to describe the role that dentition plays in deglutition.
