Richmond County Dental Society Events

The Richmond County Dental Society (RCDS), the Branch Society of the Second District Dental Society, meets several times annually, offering presentations that are current and pertinent to its members. The January meeting is devoted to the Installation of Officers at the Annual Dinner Dance. The April meeting is held in conjunction with the regular Second District Dental Society General Membership Meeting.

In this lecture, there will be a review of the history, concepts and principles of Teeth-in-a-Day / All-on-X to aid dentists in identifying and treatment planning the All-on-X or full arch dental implant patient. There will be a review of the surgical protocols for full arch dental implants and the prosthetic options for delivery of an immediate fixed prosthesis, including the latest in digital technology utilizing the photogrammetry and the PIC dental system. Upon successful completion of this lecture, attendees will learn how to identify and treatment plan for a patient requiring full arch reconstruction with implants, as well as about different treatment options and staging for full arch dental implants including Teeth-in-a-Day. The evolution of different surgical and restorative options will also be discussed.

LYDIA J. LAM, D.D.S. is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon practicing full time in Staten Island, NY. She obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of the Pacific in San Francisco and subsequently went on to complete her specialty training at Kings County Hospital Center in Brooklyn, NY (now NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County). She has since been in private practice on Staten Island, where she enjoys a broad scope of office-based oral and maxillofacial surgery including dentoalveolar surgery, bone grafting and, notably, dental implants. Additionally, Dr. Lam is on staff at Staten Island University Hospital, where she enjoys participating in resident education and performing OR-based surgeries.
